Advert making (Video)Marissa Group 6

Freak or Unique Advert                             Group 6 Research

Syed , Abbi and my self (Ben) are the people who are part of the production group for this assignment, To begin with, we started off by getting to know each others attributes and skills. Once we all had a good understanding of what we all could bring to the table,we got on with doing some research about creepy/scary/unique adverts which have come out advertising certain products.

The advert above has a Halloween themed party for kids taking place in it and two children who begin arguing over a prop that one of them have. This is a full body shot with suspense filled music letting the viewer know that something is going to happen. It then moves to a middle aged lady(Looking like a mother ).Her head turns without her body (like a demon) and then she  says " shh " with the children going silent as soon as she does this .Consequently the product is brought to attention as some sort of cure.

This advert uses  the music and lighting as the key changes discluding the character showing the mood change for  dramatic effect.

This Advert is for a game which is in  the horror genre of games. They advertised this through putting a game set up in a underground cave having members of the public playing  the game early and using it in their advert to prove to the public that their game is scary. Using only the product to sell itself as a scary advert and a scary game making this advert successful.
Pepsi Advert

This Advert is for another everyday product (Pepsi)
using a monk as the main character with a more humorous meaning. At the end they used a lot of non diegetic sound such as instruments which are there to give an emotional attachment for the audience,  then more towards the 30 seconds in mark,it had more diegetic sound.

I chose all three of these as they are unique and different.

Camera skills

22nd September 2015

At the start of the lesson today we learnt different types of camera skills such as : Tripod, Panning, Tilt, Moving painting shot, steady cam and Jib shot we learn how to do all these shots and was shown how to do them all.
Moving painting shot : Is a shot were the Tripod with the camera on stays completely still and people/person walks past at a mid shot height.
Panning shot :where you move the camera from one side to another for example left to right or right to left.
Tilt shot: Is a shot witch goes from up to down or down to up without going left or right
Jib shot : The jib shot is a shot were the camera is on a tripod and on of the legs is made very short and the other two are spread equally then the camera woman/man can move the camera to get a unique look for the viewer almost a type of up lift when being viewed
Steady cam:Is a technique were the camera is securely put onto the tripod and then is tilted upside down with nether of the legs extended although out to create a balance of weight for the camera holder

Everyone went out to try each one of these shots

We also started to learn how to use  Adobe premiere pro we were taught how the interface would run when editing a video and were all the clips are being edited would be placed. Also how to alter the template you will be editing with on the interface.

Sound in Advertising

Sound in advertising

Diegetic sound: Diegetic sound normally is seen as on screen sound. Such as the voice of characters on screen ,sound made by objects on the screen or even music coming from something on screen in sight for the viewer.
Non diegetic: Non Diegetic is normally is seen as of screen sound .Sound that can either only be heard by the audience. Also can be something like a Narration or sound effects added for dramatic effect.
Major key :is normally assisted with being a positive

Adverts

Makeup advert

This is the Maybelline Commercial put out in 2009 witch uses mainly major piano keys but is not a popular song known by the public as some adverts have. Tempo being quite slow to be able to keep the non diegetic sound witch is a person commenting about the make up while models are on screen. Is up beat to make sure its neutral song appeal to all people .Although the target audience seems mainly aimed at females as they are the only gender shown in the advert .

Car advert

This is the advert for one of the new ford focus's (in 2011) this advert showed a lot of different models of the same car going round a seemingly empty city the music was (up beat ) high tempo with a similar to jazzy feel witch made the car seem more appealing to the generation that would buy this type family car .Using actual instrument as that's what their target audience would enjoy, this advert is quite positive music and it defiantly is incorporated into the visuals of the advert using young happy people. Using only non diegetic sound witch was the music behind the advert ,also the tempo being rather fast the hole advert .

Sofa advert

This is a advert for CSL sofas the advert it self came out at 2013 This is a advert based on sofas is intended for a older audience as the music in the advert is very old sounding although is up tempo and is Based for a mixed sex audience of men and women up beat.

FreakorUnique : Learning to Use PhotoShop

Learning to use Photoshop Owain

In Todays lesson we learned to use Photoshop we did this by editing and altering three images witch we found on the internet

First of we started of by learning how to open and run the program (Photoshop CS6) and how to start a new project going to the top left of the page your first brought to, to click on file and then click on new (under file) to open a new page up witch then we selected International paper witch is very similar to A4 once I had pressed OK it taken me to a blank white sheet of paper to be able to add content to.

Image result for wolf
I had originally took this image and added a extra eye to the middle of the wolfs head I did this by using the Clone Stamp tool witch is located on the left side of Photoshop program. we used this to be able to transfer something from one place to another place with out damaging the original image.

Task 1 (Learning about advitising)Faye JAckson

Step 1
The exercise I did in collage today started of with the teacher (Faye) coming around with a marker pen and putting a number 1-6 on everyone's hands. This determined who would be with who by number (ones group in the one group and twos in the two group etc.) this made each group random making this also a good team building exercise as well.
Step 2
Now in your teams you was to go up to the front of the class and Grab a piece of card with something to do with the task on it the first card said A (although all of them said A they were not the same) .On the front of this card it said the product you would be advertising witch was a camera ,the next card having a B and being where the product would be advertised ; final card being C witch was target audience ,the target audience was students.
Step 3
Having to follow these requirements we made a advert round a camera for students witch we started of by writing down all thing that the product would need to have to reach the target audience and get their attention we did this through doing spider diagrams and list's of what needs to be added to the advert.

    Step 4
After designing the what type of camera, how much it would be ? & made the advert  like a poster to show the camera off although limited with time It wasn't the best finished product although we still had all the key points put on the sheet and then we all decided between us who would say what when we had to present it at the end of the lesson.
Step 5
At the end we did a presentation of our finished product in hand using the slogan :What you don't see ?
